Windows and Doors
In our ongoing series of highlights of the completion of the 1A Phase of the Glass House Project stabilization of the south and west walls, we take a look at the reconstruction of the windows and door to this area of the ruin.
Reconstructing the areas around the windows and door is one of the most meticulous aspects of stabilizing this portion of the ruin. The right stones from the original structure must be replaced in their exact positions.
These stones are some of the heaviest and most delicate, requiring winches and hoists to get them in the position for the expert stonemasons from Dominion Traditional Building to do their magic. And indeed they did.
