Menokin’s First Descendants’ Day 2022

Menokin’s First Descendants’ Day took place at Menokin on October 1, 2022. Here is a special message from Judith Gordon, Menokin Board of Trustees and Executive Committee. Judith is also a direct descendant of Daniel West Gordon.

"Greetings Descendants and Friends,

I hope you returned safely to your homes with warm memories of our time together at Menokin’s First Descendants’ Day. It was truly a joy to see all of you who braved the treat of hurricane Ian to join the celebration of our ancestors who were enslaved at Menokin. Meeting new cousins and the descendants of other families on this historic occasion was, for me, an extraordinarily beautiful experience.
