Natalie is the second great-granddaughter of Stafford Gordon, Jr. and the third great-granddaughter of Amanda Beverly and Stafford Gordon.

Natalie Dupree

Natalie is a Washington D.C. resident and has lived there most of her life. She graduated from Cornell University with a BS in microbiology. She also received her MS in biostatistics and epidemiology from Georgetown. She began her career in Public Health Research by working at the Cancer Center at Howard University. She then joined a Federal Statistical Agency and worked there as a public health researcher for over 33 years. She worked there until retirement. Natalie has one adult son, Nathan.

She is a multidisciplinary crafter and a total nerd! Family is hugely important to her so that's why joining and participating in the Menokin Descendant Collective has been such an amazing experience. Losing her father at a young age and the fact that his last name changed when his stepdad adopted him, made it harder to connect to her extended family on her paternal side. Through genealogy initiated by her paternal 1st cousin, Wanda Gordon Henderson, she has been able to connect with family members she did not know she even had.

Natalie says of being a part of the Menokin Descendant Collective, "It is not only satisfying for me to have more answers to personal questions about my heritage, it also gives me a sense of greater purpose knowing that I'm contributing to something that will be a legacy by enlightening and educating others regarding family, national, and cultural history."
