Menokin Descendant Spotlight: Meet Free Haven Farms

Our next descendant business highlight is Free Haven Farms owned by Micaiah Hall and Dr. Cynthia Hall, a descendant of Amanda Beverly and Stafford Gordon and a second great granddaughter of Daniel West Gordon.

Free Haven Farms is a small, regenerative, family farm located in Historic Lawnside, NJ. Free Haven Farms was created in 2017 by visionary and farmer Micaiah Hall and his wife, scientist and educator, Dr. Cynthia Hall. Free Haven Farms operates its commercial farm by distributing produce through a seasonal farm share program and wholesale contracts with local food businesses. The goal of these multiple distribution channels is to be able to provide access to high-quality produce to communities that typically lack access to healthy and fresh foods. Free Haven Farms also provides educational programs on the farm and at local schools. Free Haven Farms hosts farm tours and workshops as well as facilitates a youth summer camp. The company also recently launched a non-profit organization, Free Haven Institute for Science & Agriculture, Inc. (FHISA, Inc.) to facilitate its educational programming.
