She is a 2020 William & Mary graduate with a B.A. in Art and Art History, with a concentration in studio art. She received her graduate certificate in Public History at VCU in 2023. As a longtime volunteer at the Arts Center of Montross, Kayla curated 3 exhibitions for the Arts Center, engaging with artists from the Northern Neck and beyond. She has also taught art programs with young people such as a comics workshop and also as a private oil painting instructor.

She was a Research Librarian at Westmoreland County Museum where she provided genealogical and research support to visitors while also aiding in creating exhibits. While at Stratford Hall, she worked as a Visitor Services Associate and later as Education Coordinator aiding in developing educational programs at the site.

As a practicing artist in painting, printmaking, & illustration with interests in local history, Kayla is looking forward to creating engaging programs that will highlight Menokin's historical and architectural attributes to a wide audience.
